Humbling, comforting, terrifying

"It is not in man who walks to direct his steps."
We have no wisdom apart from you. Saved or unsaved, we have not discernment to chose a wise path. You are ultimately the Giver of Wisdom in lives thta are bowed to you, and those that are not. What a humbling, comforting, and terrifying thought. We are not cosmic puppets - we are Your creation, an extention of Your life and glory. We cannot be wise enough to determine our own steps. It should humble us and comfort us that we are not able, but that You willingly give Your wisdom. It should terrify us to be so arrogant as to think that we walk in our own wisdom, that we can direct our own paths. Forgive us, and teach us the freedom of resting in your wisdom to direct our steps.
