What really matters...

as you read the scripture from Jeremiah 9 you can see where my thoughts are today. So many things crowd into our lives and keep us from the perspective that God wants us to have. We have talents, strengths, gifts that He, in His providential wisdom has granted to us. Some are unusually wise, some are strong and able, some are finacially beyond others, and many more gifts, talents and strengths that aren't listed. But God wanted us to understand, to know in the core of our being, that those things are not the things to depend on, to brag about, to show off with, to hold over other, or whatever our flesh wants to do with them. God wants those things, or the desire for those things, to lead us to know, understand, and serve Him better.
Surely we know that the wisest thing is for us to search Him out, to seek His ways.
Surely we know that the mightiest we will ever be is when we know we are weak, but He is strong.
Surely we know that the riches of this earth can't even be weighed in comparison to the riches that are ours in a real, depth - searching knowledge of Christ Jesus!
IF WE DON'T KNOW IT - - - WE MUST DIG, AND SEARCH IN THE SCRIPTURES
UNTIL HE MAKES IT PLAIN TO US! Only in His Word will we find the wisdom, the might, and the riches (and everything else sufficient unto us) that will bring us to what He really wants for us...
"to understand and to know ME,
that I AM THE LORD
who practices
steadfast love, justice, and righteousness
in all the earth."
For in THESE THINGS HE DELIGHTS!
