I was reminded today, by one of my beautiful daughters, that the 'enemies'
I talked about in my last post really just have the purpose of keeping our
eyes off of our Rock!
Fear, insecurity, feeling like a failure, facing a situation that is out of our
control - all of those things quickly become joy-stealing, truth-robbing,
disturbers of our peace. We become like Peter and take our eyes off of
the Lord and watch the waves crash around us. We feel like we are sinking
as the circumstances, the enemies, rage around us - and we increase in
fear and uncertainty, and decrease in faith.
BUT GOD, WHO IS RICH IN MERCY... never leaves us completely to
ourselves. He never walks away because we can't handle what He is
allowing in our lives. He never turns His head in disgust and abandons
us to our fearful, selfish living. He is there, He sees , He knows it's hard
for us - and He stretches out His hand for us to again know the peace,
safety, and security of a loving, sovereign God.
Thank you, Valerie, your words spoke peace to me today! I love you!
